TAYLORVILLE — Amy Winans, Christian County Coroner spoke to the Career class at Taylorville High School this week. Amy shared with the class her duties as Coroner and explained how it is an elected position. She also discussed her interests and classes in high school and college. The students asked several questions following the presentation.
TAYLORVILLE — The September meeting of Community Women's Association was held on Sept. 6, 2017, at the Taylorville Memorial Hospital Annex. There were 17 members and one guest in attendance. Desserts were provided by Jina Anderson. Pat Keane was the winner of the 50/50 drawing but because she was not present the money will roll over.
MT. AUBURN — It is a romanticized concept, but in real life, “X” never, ever marks the spot. A small group of Christian County men say they prefer it that way. “It’s all about the thrill of the hunt,” says Mt. Auburn’s Curt Winans.
TAYLORVILLE — It really is a small world, just ask Taylorville’s Dave Ryan or Scottsdale, Arizona’s Jerry Smith. Ryan grew up here in Taylorville while Smith hails from Oskaloosa, Iowa. In their youth, neither had any reason to know that the other existed. SPRINGFIELD — The James S. Murray Gallery at Lincoln Land Community College is featuring the ceramic exhibit, “The Living Tributary,” by area artist and LLCC alumnus, Kyle Kirkpatrick July 3-27. The exhibit is open for viewing Monday-Thursday from 8 a.m.-4 p.m. The gallery is located on the upper level of Menard Hall on the LLCC-Springfield campus, 5250 Shepherd Road. Saturday, July 1, 2017
TAYLORVILLE — Beta Sigma Phi International Chapters Alpha Pi, Omicron, Preceptor Delta Lambda, and Xi Delta Theta of Taylorville, have awarded their 2017 Scholarship to Kyle Kuntzman, a graduate of Taylorville High School.
