1/5/2013 1:53:00 PM Theatre 7 announces auditions for "Marrying Terry"
DEACTUR — Theatre 7, Decatur’s Community Theatre, will hold auditions for its March 2013 production, “Marrying Terry” at 6:30 p.m. on Monday, January 21 and Tuesday, January 22 in Shilling Auditorium at Richland Community College, 1 College Park Drive, Decatur. Both nights are open auditions with no callback session.
“Marrying Terry,” written by Gregg Opelka, is an appealing, romantic fairy-tale romp filled with an ingenious series of coincidences and mistaken identities. Two strangers named Terry Adams accidentally double-book a room at Chicago’s Drake Hotel on New Year’s Eve and hilarity ensues as their respective fiancés attempt to sort through the confusion.
John D. Poling will direct this final show of Theatre 7’s 49th Season. For auditions, a prepared audition monologue is not necessary. Actors should be ready to cold-read excerpts from the script. The cast includes five male and six female roles. The ages of the characters vary. The two leading roles are for a male and female in their late 20’s to early 40’s. Rehearsals will be held Monday through Thursday in the evenings of January 28 to March 7, at Theatre 7 Headquarters, 3rd floor, 131 N. Water Street, Decatur.
Those interested in non-performing production volunteer positions should register during audition times, and meet briefly with the show Producer.
Performances of “Marrying Terry” will be Fridays & Saturdays, March 8-9 and 15-16, 2013 at 7:30 p.m., and Sundays, March 10 and 17, 2013, at 2:00 p.m. in the Shilling Auditorium on the campus of Richland Community College. www.theatre7.net.
