SPRINGFIELD, Ill. — Anyone who has ever sighed over Scarlett O’Hara’s dresses or longed to wear Union blues is invited to the Springfield Art Association’s Civil War Fashion show on February 23 at 2 p.m. Local Civil War reenactors will be on hand to walk the runway in the Gallery of Art as information is provided about the style and function of each outfit. Static displays of clothing and accessories will also be on view. After the fashion show, visitors will have a chance to ask models questions about their attire over tea and treats in historic Edwards Place.
The cost of this event is $15 for adults and $5 for children. Tickets may be purchased at the door or reserved in advance by calling the Springfield Art Association at 217-523-2631. All proceeds go to the restoration and maintenance of historic Edwards Place and its collection.
