March 15 Calico Twirlers Square Dance Club The Calico Twirlers Square Dance Club will host their monthly dance on Friday, March 15, 2013, at the Litchfield Community Center, 1100 S. March 15-16 & 17 Marrying Terry, Theatre 7 Theatre 7’s March 2013 production of “Marrying Terry” is the final show of their 49th Season. “Marrying Terry,” written by Gregg Opelka, is an appealing, romantic fairy-tale romp filled with an ingenious series of coincidences and mistaken identities. Performances will be Friday & Saturday, March 15-16, 2013 at 7:30 p.m., and Sunday, March 17, 2013, at 2:00 p.m. in the Shilling Auditorium on the campus of Richland Community College. March 17 Illinois ChapterPo.L.K. of A. Dance Illinois Chapter Po.L.K. of A. will hold a dance Sunday, March 17th from 2:00 - 5:30 p.m. at the Riverton K of C Hall located at 335 South 4th Street, Riverton, Illinois. March 19 Prairie Grapevine Folklore Society presents Rick Thum Prairie Grapevine Folklore Society presents Rick Thum for their Tues., March 19 , 2013 event. This event begins at 7:30 p.m. at the Abraham Lincoln Unitarian Universalist Church, 745 Woodside Road, Springfield. Donation is $10 for adults, $9 for seniors, $8 for members, $5 for students and $25 for a family. Rick is best known for his latest album, “Front Porch Waltz”, and his festival performances, which have regularly earned him the “most popular performer” title at the largest national dulcimer festival. Rick Thum brings his fine blend of hammered dulcimer, guitar, banjo and song to Springfield. March 21-23 THS Beauty and the Beast Spring Musical There will be four performances of Beauty and the Beast at THS in the spring. On Thurs., March 21, a dinner theater catered by Angelo’s will begin at 7 p.m. Cost is $18 for a reserved seat and dinner. There will a performance on Fri., March 22, at 7 p.m.; and Sat., March 23, at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. Reserved seating cost is $7.50 for adults and $5 for students. General admission tickets cost $5 for adults and $3 for students. New this year is “Tea with Belle” during which princesses and princes 12-years-old and younger can come to the high school on Sat., March 23, at 12:30 p.m. Attendees can have their picture taken with Belle and other enchanted objects. Cookies and punch will be served. Cost is $5 to attend.
March 23 2nd Annual FarmBureau Trivia Night The Christian County Farm Bureau Foundation is hosting their 2nd annual Trivia Night on Saturday, March 23rd in the Taylorville Memorial Hospital Auditorium. The doors will open at 6:30 p.m. and the competition starts at 7 p.m. The event theme is “We Are Feeling a Little Sporty!”, and participants are encouraged to dress in their favorite team colors, develop a team theme, wear costumes and decorate their table. Cost is $50 per each team of six (6) people. Teams can purchase mulligans and 50/50 tickets also. Anyone interested in having a team should contact the Christian County Farm Bureau at 824-2940 by Friday, March 15th.
