July 26 A Night with Bob & John Come to One East Market on Friday, July 26th and enjoy the music of Bob Dylan and John Prine in the Shumway Room. Area musicians will perform Bob and John’s songs acoustically from 8-11 p.m. Never a cover charge! One East Market is located on the corner of Market and Main in Taylorville.
July 27 Smokin' Music Fest The Smokin' Music Fest will be happening this Sat., July 27th at the Christian County Fairgrounds. This all-day bbq & music event will begin with the cook's meeting at 8 a.m., then the cook's registration at 9 a.m. The "Backyard BBQ contest" meats will be due at 3 p.m., and at 6 p.m. the judges' will announce the winners and their prizes/payouts! Registration for the sand volleyball tournament starts at 9 a.m., with play beginning at 10 a.m. The cost is $50 per team. The music begins at 3 p.m. with Sojourn Rocks until 6 p.m. and Super Mario Speedwagon entertaining from 7-11 p.m. Several food vendors will be available during the event.
Music Under the Chautauqua The Taylorville Park District presents Music Under the Chautauqua Buidling, at Manners Park, on Sat., July 27, 2013. The featured band, Hard Livin’ will perform from 7:00-9:00 p.m. This is a free event with Pepsi refreshments. Call 824-5878 or 824-3110 with questions.
July 31-Aug. 2 Morrisonville Picnic & Homecoming The 86th annual Morrisonville Picnic and Homecoming will be Wednesday, July 31 through Friday, August 2, 2013. There will be plenty of daily events, entertainment and fun including the carnival games, rides, concessions, pageants, tournaments, and the beer tent with live music at night.
Aug. 1-3 Mt. AuburnFarmer’s Picnic The annual Mt. Auburn Farmer’s Picnic will be held August 1st - August 3rd. This is the 127th event for the Village of Mt. Auburn. The theme this year is “Remember When”. The Little Miss and Mister Contest will take place Thursday at 7:00 p.m. Live music will be performed Friday night by “The Stone & Biscuit Band” and Saturday by “Walkin’ With Cash” and “Velveeta Revolver”. Come on out and enjoy the carnival, demonstrations, drawings, food, and entertainment!
