November 2 Blacksmith Hammer In at MCHS On Sat., Nov. 2, the Macoupin County Historical Society will host their Blacksmith Hammer In. The event will include a three-hour teaching demonstration by Robert Tuftee in the Village Blacksmith Shop located on the grounds of the MCHS Museum located at 920 Breckenridge St., Carlinville. This event is free and open to the public.
November 7-9 Pride of the Prairie Fall Marble Show & Trading The Pride of the Prairie Fall Marble Show and Trading will be held Nov. 7, 8, and 9, at the Country Inn and Suites, Highway 51, just north of I-72 in Decatur. Doors open Sat. at 9 a.m. for the event finale showing. Families & youth groups are encouraged to attend and learn more about this rarely manufactured toy. Fun and surprises are likely to occur at this free-to-the-public event. New to this annual show is participation from Nebraska’s own Lee’s Legendary Marbles. Lee Batterton, who bills his museum in York, NE, as a million dollar marble collection, has been sharing his assortment with the public for 12 years. November 9 & 10 Persimmon Party at CCHS The Christian County Historical Society, 325 Abesway, Taylorville, will host its annual Persimmon Party on Saturday, Nov. 9th and Sunday, Nov. 10th.
