November 22 “Branson on the Road” at Effingham Performance Center Branson on the Road is bringing two performances to the Effingham Performance Center on Nov. 22nd, at 2 p.m. & 7:30 p.m. Tickets may be purchased online at www.ticketmaster.com, by phone at 800-745-3000, at Ticketmaster outlets or at the Effingham Performance Center, 1325 Outer Belt West, Effingham, during box office hours, Mon. - Fri. 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Ticket prices range from $20-$35. Branson on the Road has over 20 years of experience of performing at top theatres in Branson on the famous 76 Country Music Boulevard delivering good music and clean fun for all ages, and is the original national touring show from the famous city.
November 22 & 23 Stonington First Baptist Church Bazaar The Stonington First Baptist Church will hold their bazaar on Friday, November 22nd, from 9 a.m. - 4 p.m. and Saturday, November 23rd from 9 a.m. - 2 p.m. Lunch will be available along with a bake sale, candy sale, lots of crafts and a quilt raffle.
November 23 Pana Community Hospital Holiday Bazaar The Holiday Bazaar, presented by Pana Community Hospital Auxiliary, will be held from 9:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. on Sat., Nov. 23, at the 1st Methodist Church. The church is located at 619 Kitchell Ave. in Pana. Lunch will be served from 10:30 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. (menu includes: Homemade chili and vegetable soup, chicken salad or sloppy joe sandwiches, fresh garden or chef salads and home-made desserts). Pie and coffee will be available all day. Shop over 30 vendors including the PCH Auxiliary fresh pecans, American Girl doll clothing, crafts, jewelry, purses, candles, housewares and many others. The Boy Scouts will be selling fresh wreaths and grave blankets. All proceeds to benefit Pana Community Hospital.
CD of A Christmas Bazaar & Bake Sale On Saturday, Nov. 23rd the CD of A Christmas Bazaar and Bake Sale will be taking place in the St. Mary’s Parish Center Cafeteria in Taylorville, from 8 a.m. until 2 p.m. Chili and hot dogs will be served from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m.
December 3 Author Susan Elmore at Taylorville Public Library Susan Elmore, author of Nameless Indignities, will be speaking at the Taylorville Public Library, 121 W. Vine Street, on Tuesday, December 3 at 7:00 p.m. Her book unravels the mystery of one of Illinois’ most infamous crimes; in 1882, a rural school teacher, Emma Bond, was brutally attacked, and left for dead, in the Montgomery School which was located near Grove City, Christian County, Ill. Susan Elmore, upon discovering that her great-great aunt was the victim and central figure in one of Illinois’ most notorious crimes, set out to learn more and uncovered a perplexing case that resulted in multiple suspects, a lynch mob, charges of perjury and bribery, a failed kidnapping attempt, broken family loyalties, lies, cover-ups, financial devastation and at least two suicides.
