SPRINGFIELD — The Old State Capitol State Historic Site will be filled with music, laughing children, stories and Santa’s “ho ho ho” this month.
On Dec. 20, children can enjoy a special evening with games, crafts, stories and visits with Santa Claus. The second annual “Holiday Stories with Santa” takes place throughout the Old State Capitol, and kids are encouraged to wear pajamas as they listen to stories or play games.
Members of the Lincoln family will read Christmas stories, and Santa will pose for pictures in Representative Hall. Cocoa and snacks will be available.
The event will begin at 6:00 p.m. and end at 9:00 p.m.
An entire family can attend for just $10. The price drops to $5 for any families that donate a book to be distributed through area organizations.
