Vintage Motocross at South Fork Dirt Riders

Overeaters Anonymous
Overeaters Anonymous meets every Sunday evening at 7:00 p.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church, Taylorville. For more information call Linda at 237-5294 or 827-6591.

Taylorville VFW Post 4495
There will be a regularly scheduled meeting of Taylorville VFW Post 4495 at the Veterans’ Memorial Home at  515 N. West Avenue on Monday, June 10, 2013, at 7:30 p.m. All post members are encouraged to attend this meeting.

Christian County NRA Affiliate
The monthly meeting for the Christian County NRA Affiliate is the second Monday of every month at 7:00 p.m. The meeting is held at the Taylorville Fire House, and the public is welcome to attend.

Card Play Group
Every Monday from 12:30 to 3:30 p.m. the Taylorville Senior Center holds its regular "Card Play Group" for Bridge and Pinochle or bring your own card/game group. The public is welcome.

Beginning Bridge classes
The Taylorville Senior Center offers free beginning bridge classes every Monday from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. Personal instruction and tips to become proficient bridge players. Call 824-4263 to RSVP; class size is limited.

Weight Watchers
A Weight Watchers meeting at the Way of Life Church will be held each Monday at 6:00 p.m. Weigh-in will begin at 5:30 p.m.

Tae Kwon Do Classes
The Taylorville Park District offers Tae Kwon Do class on Monday and Thursday from 6 to 7:30 p.m. in the Manners Park dining hall. The class is for children through adults. There is a monthly fee and a yearly registration fee. Mr. Dave Woods is the chief instructor and there are also ten black belt instructors to help with the class. For more information call Dave Woods at 820-1458.

Grief Support Group
A grief support group will meet the 2nd and 4th Monday of each month, from 6:30 to 8 p.m. at Taylorville Memorial Hospital, 4th floor in room 469.

June 11
Weight Watchers
There will be a Weight Watchers meeting at the Way of Life Church each Tuesday morning at 9:00 a.m. Weigh-in will begin at 8:30 a.m.

Pinochle Game
Pinochle games are played every Tuesday at 12:30 p.m. at the South Fork Senior Center. Everyone is welcome to join the game.

TOPS
TOPS Weight Loss Group meets each Tuesday evening in the First Baptist Church Fellowship Hall at 303 E. Market. Weigh-in is from 4:30-5:00 p.m. Meeting is from 5:00-6:00 p.m. Come share recipes, information and fun! Please call 824-2951 for more information.

Al-Anon
A weekly Al-Anon meeting will be held every Tuesday at 7:30 p.m. in the Auditorium C Conference Room at Taylorville Memorial Hospital. For more information call 565-9535.

Christian County Life Goes On  
The first meeting of the Christian County Life Goes On committee will be held Wednesday, June 12, at 4:30 p.m. The committee is a group of community members who are interested in raising awareness about organ/tissue donation. This informal, brief, educational meeting will take place in the Taylorville Memorial Hospital Auditorium. South Fork Township Board
The South Fork Township Board meeting that was scheduled for June 11th has been re-scheduled for Thursday, June 13th.

Celebrate Recovery
Celebrate Recovery will be held at iWorship Center-Taylorville, 1338 N. Lawrence St., on Fridays at 6:30 p.m. Celebrate Recovery is a faith-based program for individuals who are struggling with addictions. For questions call Alanna Gray at 720-6188.

June 15
Woofstock 2013 TV Raffle
The Woofstock 2013 TV Raffle to benefit the Homeward Bound Pet Shelter will be held at 1:00 p.m. Sat., June 15th at Macon Resources, 2121 Hubbard Avenue, Decatur (need not be present to win-absent winners will be contacted via phone). First prize is a Samsung 51” HD-TV, second prize is a tablet and third prize is $100.00. Tickets are $5.00 each or five for $20.00 and can be purchased at Homeward Bound Pet Shelter, 1720 E. Fairview United Methodist Ice Cream Social
Fairview United Methodist Church will hold their Ice Cream Social on Wed., June 19th, serving from 5-7 p.m., at the South Fork Fellowship Hall, 1431 East 100 North Road, Nokomis. Sandwiches, salads, desserts and homemade ice cream will be available. Donations will go towards the Oklahoma Tornado victims and church maintenance.

June 21
Calico Twirlers Square Dance Club
The Calico Twirlers Square Dance Club will host their monthly dance on Friday, June 21, 2013, at the Litchfield Community Center, 1100 S. State St., Litchfield, IL, from 7:30-10:00 p.m.

June 22
Taylorville Lake Campers Golf Cart Poker Run
Taylorville Lake Campers biggest event of the season, the Golf Cart Poker Run, is scheduled for Sat., June 22, 2013. This Run, sponsored by the American Legion in Taylorville, is from 2:00 - 6:00 p.m. at the lake campgrounds. There will also be a golf cart raffle, silent auctions, kids games and more. The event is open to the public. A trophy for “Best Decorated Cart” will be awarded. The Run is scheduled from one end of the campgrounds to the other with five stops, each with a theme. Tickets for the golf cart raffle are $10 each or three for $25; they may be purchased at the Marina or from any committee member. Proceeds will go towards two funds; one for a washhouse to be installed at Marina and one for new Marina playground to be installed.
