September 15
Overeaters Anonymous
Overeaters Anonymous meets every Sunday evening at 7:00 p.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church, Taylorville. For more information call Linda at 237-5294 or 827-6591.

September 16
Buckeye HCEA Meeting
The Buckeye HCEA will meet Monday, September 16 at 1:30 p.m. in the home of Bonnie Elam. The lesson “Walking and Eating Your Way to Good Health” will be given by Bonnie. The roll call is “What is Your Exercise Motivation?”. Guests are welcome.

PEP Chapter FG Meeting
PEO Chapter FG will be meeting on Monday, September 16 at Janice Kettlekamp’s. Dinner starts at 6 p.m. – $10 per member - RSVP to Mary DelValle.  Group picture for 75th anniversary at 7 p.m. Meeting and program to follow.  All members urged to attend.

Card Play Group
Every Monday from 12:30 to 3:30 p.m. the Taylorville Senior Center holds its regular "Card Play Group" for Bridge and Pinochle or bring your own card/game group. The public is welcome.

Beginning Bridge classes
The Taylorville Senior Center offers free beginning bridge classes every Monday from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. Personal instruction and tips to become proficient bridge players. Call 824-4263 to RSVP; class size is limited.

Weight Watchers
A Weight Watchers meeting at the Way of Life Church will be held each Monday at 6:00 p.m. Weigh-in will begin at 5:30 p.m.

Tae Kwon Do Classes
The Taylorville Park District offers Tae Kwon Do class on Monday and Thursday from 6 to 7:30 p.m. in the Manners Park dining hall. The class is for children through adults. There is a monthly fee and a yearly registration fee. Mr. Dave Woods is the chief instructor and there are also ten black belt instructors to help with the class. For more information call Dave Woods at 820-1458.

September 17
Mt. Auburn Nite Unit of HCEA
The Mt. Auburn Nite Unit of HCEA will meet on September 17, 2013, at 7:00 p.m. in the Masonic Temple at Mt. Auburn. Hostess for the evening is Mary Sue Butcher. “Walking and Eating Your Way to Good Health” will be the evening’s lesson. Guests are welcome.

Weight Watchers
There will be a Weight Watchers meeting at the Way of Life Church each Tuesday morning at 9:00 a.m. Weigh-in will begin at 8:30 a.m.

Pinochle Game
Pinochle games are played every Tuesday at 12:30 p.m. at the South Fork Senior Center. Everyone is welcome to join the game.

TOPS
TOPS Weight Loss Group meets each Tuesday evening in the First Baptist Church Fellowship Hall at 303 E. Market. Weigh-in is from 4:30-5:00 p.m. Meeting is from 5:00-6:00 p.m. Come share recipes, information and fun! Please call 824-2951 for more information.

Al-Anon
A weekly Al-Anon meeting will be held every Tuesday at 7:30 p.m. in the Auditorium C Conference Room at Taylorville Memorial Hospital. For more information call 565-9535.

AmVets Post #29
There will be a meeting of the AmVets Post #29 on Wednesday, Sept. 18, 2013 at 6:30 p.m. in the American Legion building, Taylorville.

Taylorville Friendly Neighbors Club
The Taylorville Friendly Neighbors Club will meet Wednesday September 18 at 1:30 in the home of Faye Sheley.  The topic will be " Poison Ivy, A Scounge For All Seasons". The arrangement of the month "The  Last Roses of Summer".  There will also be a plant auction.  Please call the hostess if you cannot attend.

Celebrate Recovery
Celebrate Recovery will be held at iWorship Center-Taylorville, 1338 N. Lawrence St., on Fridays at 6:30 p.m. Celebrate Recovery is a faith-based program for individuals who are struggling with addictions. For questions call Alanna Gray at 720-6188.

September 28
"I Can Live Without That/Boot Sale"
The Taylorville Lake Campers Committee is holding an "I Can Live Without That/Boot Sale" at the Taylorville Lake Marina from 9:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 28th. The donations of items the campers “can live without” will be for sale to the general public. In England a "boot sale" is similar to a garage sale, since they don't have the large yards or garages like there are in the USA, they hold the sales in the trunk of their cars, which they call a “boot”! All proceeds will go to the proposed pavilion for the Marina.

October 4, 5 & 6
Friends of the Library Annual Book Sale
Friends of the Taylorville Public Library will hold their annual book sale on Sat., Oct. 5th from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Sun., Oct. 6th from 12 p.m. to 3 p.m. in the Library’s community room. They are also hosting a special preview night on Friday evening, Oct. 4th from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., for a small donation. The preview night will feature a variety of refreshments and first opportunity to purchase book sale items. Prices for the sale are consistent with past years for soft back books, hard back books and audiovisual materials. Reduced pricing from 12-3 p.m. on Sunday will allow customers to fill a library bag for a nominal fee! Donations for the book sale are being accepted at the circulation desk. The Taylorville Public Library is located at 121 West Vine Street. Questions should be directed to the library at 217-824-4736.

October 19
Trunk or Treat event
The Taylorville Lake Campers Committee is hosting a Trunk or Treat event on Saturday, October 19th from 4:30 -5:30 p.m. This event will be held at the Taylorville Lake Marina and candy will be distributed by Taylorville Lake Campers to children 13 years & under.
