December 15
Vespers Concert at Taylorville High School
The Christmas Vespers Concert will be held in the Taylorville High School cafeteria at 4 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 15th.  

Overeaters Anonymous
Overeaters Anonymous meets every Sunday evening at 7:00 p.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church, Taylorville. For more information call Linda at 237-5294 or 827-6591.

I-Worship Center’s Men’s Weekly Group Meeting
 A men’s weekly small group meeting will be held the 3rd and 4th Sunday of the month at 2:00 p.m. at the Taylorville I-Worship Center, 13378 N. Lawrence Avenue. For more information, call Ray at 825-3353.

December 16
Buckeye HCEA
Buckeye HCEA will meet in the home of Marcella Large on Monday, Dec. 16th, at 11:30 a.m., for their annual Christmas luncheon. Members are asked to bring a “White Elephant” gift for game play.

Soup with Santa & Mrs. Claus at Manners Park
Children can enjoy Soup with Santa and Mrs. Claus on Monday, December 16th at the Manners Park Dining Hall. Balloon sculpting and face painting will be available. This event will take place from 5:30-7:30 p.m.

Santa Visits Manners Park
Santa will be visiting the Manners Park Dining Hall on Sunday, Dec. 15th, from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m.

Card Play Group
Every Monday from 12:30 to 3:30 p.m. the Taylorville Senior Center holds its regular "Card Play Group" for Bridge and Pinochle or bring your own card/game group. The public is welcome.

Beginning Bridge classes
The Taylorville Senior Center offers free beginning bridge classes every Monday from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. Personal instruction and tips to become proficient bridge players. Call 824-4263 to RSVP; class size is limited.

Weight Watchers
A Weight Watchers meeting at the Way of Life Church will be held each Monday at 6:00 p.m. Weigh-in will begin at 5:30 p.m.

Tae Kwon Do Classes
The Taylorville Park District offers Tae Kwon Do class on Monday and Thursday from 6 to 7:30 p.m. in the Manners Park dining hall. The class is for children through adults. There is a monthly fee and a yearly registration fee. Mr. Dave Woods is the chief instructor and there are also ten black belt instructors to help with the class. For more information call Dave Woods at 820-1458.

December 17
Kids N Kritters at Manners Park
Kids N Kritters pictures with Santa and Mrs. Claus will be held Tuesday, Dec. 17th from 6:00 - 7:30 p.m. A $5 donation to the animal shelter or bring an item (food, blanket, etc.) is asked. This event will be held in the Manners Park Dining Hall.

Weight Watchers
There will be a Weight Watchers meeting at the Way of Life Church each Tuesday morning at 9:00 a.m. Weigh-in will begin at 8:30 a.m.

Pinochle Game
Pinochle games are played every Tuesday at 12:30 p.m. at the South Fork Senior Center. Everyone is welcome to join the game.

TOPS
TOPS Weight Loss Group meets each Tuesday evening in the First Baptist Church Fellowship Hall at 303 E. Market. Weigh-in is from 4:30-5:00 p.m. Meeting is from 5:00-6:00 p.m. Come share recipes, information and fun! Please call 824-2951 for more information.

Al-Anon
A weekly Al-Anon meeting will be held every Tuesday at 7:30 p.m. in the Auditorium C Conference Room at Taylorville Memorial Hospital. For more information call 565-9535.

December 18
Friendly Neighbors Garden Club
There will be a regular monthly meeting of the Friendly Neighbors Garden Club in Wednesday, December 18, 2013, at 12:00 noon for a Christmas potluck at the home of Marilyn Barrett. They will reveal their “Secret Garden Friend” from the past year and choose a new one for the coming year. For more information, contact Marilyn Barrett at 824-5973.

December 19
Family Dinner & Bingo at Manners Park
A night of family fun will be held December 19th at the Manners Park Dining Hall. Family Dinner and Bingo with music by A Family Affair starting at 5 p.m. Dinner will be served at 5:30 p.m. Must have a ticket (free) for admittance, first 100 people will receive a ticket.

The Taylorville Junior High School Christmas Assembly will be held on Friday, December 20 at 10:00 a.m.

Live Nativity at Manners Park
Church of the Nazarene Live Nativity at Manners Park on Friday, Dec. 20 from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m.

Celebrate Recovery
Celebrate Recovery will be held at iWorship Center-Taylorville, 1338 N. Lawrence St., on Fridays at 6:30 p.m. Celebrate Recovery is a faith-based program for individuals who are struggling with addictions. For questions call Alanna Gray at 720-6188.

Sister Joan & the Merry Medics Caroling for a Cause
Dr. M. B. Prabhu and Sister Joan Weller have organized a fun holiday event in an attempt to check up on the health of holiday giving. “Sister Joan and the Merry Medics” will serve up a healthy dose of holiday entertainment Thursday, Dec. 20, at 6:00 p.m., in the lobby of Taylorville Memorial Hospital. The public is invited & admission is free, however guests are asked to bring one non-perishable food item. Sister Joan, on the keyboard, will be joined by Dr. Dragica Milicevic on accordian and Dr. Rick DelValle on drums and a chorus of Springfield Clinic and TMH staff as they present a half-hour of Christmas caroling for a cause. All goods donated will go to the Taylorville Emergency Food Pantry.
