Daniel C. Kennell, 40, of Taylorville, died at 6:48 a.m., Friday, August 3, 2012 from injuries in an automobile accident near Assumption.
He was born September 5, 1971 in Shelbyville, IL the son of Harold R. and Shirley D. Christner Kennell. On June 3, 1995 he married Hope L. St. Clair in Rockford, IL. Mr. Kennell was a Child Care Counselor at Kemmerer Village in Assumption and was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Taylorville.
Surviving are his wife, Hope Kennell of Taylorville; two sons, Alexander Matthew Kennell and Chad Edward Kennell of home; parents, Harold and Shirley Kennell of Shelbyville; mother-in-law and father-in-law: Dale and Sheila St. Clair of Marseilles; four brothers, Mark Kennell and wife Karen of Roanoke, Darren Kennell and wife Amber of Shelbyville, Harlan Kennell and wife Danielle of Coal City, and Curt Kennell and fiancée Courtney of Charlotte, NC; maternal grandparents: Christy and Ellen Christner of Shelbyville; nieces and nephews, Derreck Kennell, Kayla Kennell, Drew Kennell, Bart Kennell, Brett Kennell, Abbie Kennell, Kylee Kennell, Hayden Kennell, Elijah Kennell, and Anndraia Sisco; two sisters-in-law, Renae St. Clair of McHenry, IL and Machelle St. Clair of Bloomington. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents.
Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, August 7 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Taylorville with Pastor Rodney Blomquist officiating. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. Monday August 6 at McClure Funeral Home and one hour prior to services in the church on Tuesday.
