Debbie Speagle, 56, of Owaneco, passed away at 5:45 a.m. Tuesday, September 4, 2012 at Prairie Rose Health Care Center, Pana.
She was born April 8, 1956 in Taylorville, the daughter of Donald and Dorothy Garrett Speagle. She was employed at the Christian County Mental Health Workshop in Taylorville. Debbie was very active in all areas of Special Olympics and won many medals and trophies. She loved music and enjoyed dancing and bowling. Debbie always had a friendly hello and a beautiful smile for everyone she met.
Surviving are her mother, Dorothy; brothers, Daniel (Mary) Speagle of Owaneco and David (Michelle) Speagle of Taylorville; nieces and nephews; Kimberly Anderson and family of Owaneco, Nathan Speagle of Carbondale, Kelsey Speagle of Taylorville, Joy Schuette and family of Alton, IL, Jennifer Schimandle and family of Coal City, IL, Jacob Carlen of Alton, IL and Jodi Burden and family of Indiana; and special buddy, “Aunt Pat”. She was preceded by her father, Donald and sister, Denise Longtin.

Graveside services for Debbie Speagle, 56, of Owaneco, were held on Thursday, September 6, 2012 at 1 p.m. at the Owaneco Cemetery. Casket bearers for Speagle were Dan Speagle, Nate Speagle, Jen Schimandle, Dave Speagle, Kim Anderson and Kelsey Speagle.
