Vicky Lynn Furness, 51, of Morrisonville passed away on Monday, November 5, 2012 at 7:35 a.m. at her home.
She was born May 6, 1961 at Taylorville, the daughter of James M. and Carol L. (Smith) Stewart. She married Craig M. Furness on December 30, 1988 at the United Methodist Church in Morrisonville. Vicky was the third generation owner/operator of Stewart’s Market in Morrisonville. She was a member of the Morrisonville Kiwanis, past president of the Morrisonville Community Club and on the board of directors, Key Club advisor and help retain its presence in Morrisonville, served the Morrisonville Community Club as coordinator of the Morrisonville Community Queen Pageant for 25 years. She was instrumental in the addition of street lights in Morrisonville.
Survivors include; husband, Craig M. Furness of Morrisonville; daughters, Danielle Elizabeth Furness of Taylorville and Shelby Nicole Furness of Morrisonville; parents, James M. and Carol L. Stewart of Morrisonville; brother, Greg (wife, Luanne) Stewart of Morrisonville; mother-in-law, Sharon Ulrici of Hillsboro, IL; and grandmother, Mary Smith of Taylorville. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Myrvle and Nellie Smith and Melvin and Elizabeth Stewart; father-in-law, Wayne Furness, step father-in-law, Arthur Ulrici and brother-in-law, Steve Furness.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, November 8, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. at the United Methodist Church in Morrisonville with Rev. Dayle Badman officiating. Visitation will be on Wednesday, November 7, 2012 from 4:00 - 8:00 p.m. at the United Methodist Church in Morrisonville. Cremation rites will be accorded following services and inurnment will be at a later date in Morrisonville Cemetery. The family requests casual attire be worn for the funeral.
