Maria “Mary” Corso, 89, of Taylorville, IL died at 5:34 am Sunday, November 25, 2012 at Taylorville Memorial Hospital.
She was born May 17, 1923 in Fonzaso, Italy, the daughter of Vincent and Angelina Pante Corso. Mary was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Taylorville. She worked as a waitress for many years, Illinois Secretary of State’s Office, and retired from Sangamon Card Company. Her greatest joy was her family and many friends. She also enjoyed playing bingo and cards.
Surviving are her son: Don Corso and wife Sheila of Taylorville, Granddaughter, Nikki Clayton and Great Grandchildren: Justin and Abbie Clayton all of Taylorville. Sisters: Margaret Grauer of Langleyville, and Kay Cline and husband Jack of Davenport, IA. Also surviving are several Nieces and Nephews and Great Nieces and Great Nephews all of whom she dearly loved. She was preceded in death by her parents, Brother John Corso and Sister: Natalie Hughes.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 am Thursday, November 29, 2012 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Taylorville with Father Alan Hunter officiating. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5:0 pm – 7:00 pm Wednesday at McClure Funeral Home, Taylorville.
