Frances “June” Ippolito, 87, of Jeisyville and formerly of Riverton, died Wednesday, January 23, 2013 at her home.
She was born May 16, 1925 in Springfield to Thomas and Grace Davenport Bauereiss. She married James E. Ippolito on February 28, 1945 at St. Agnes Church in Springfield. He preceded her in death on October 30, 1988. June was an avid golfer with a fabulous short game. She made two holes in one during her golf days. She was a fanatic, life long Cub fan and enjoyed playing cards and shuffleboard with friends. Vacations to Florida and Arizona gave her joy. She was a member of the Ladies Elks Auxillary and retired from the United States Selective Service Department. All who knew her, know how proud she was of her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She is survived by three sons, Thomas Ippolito and James Ippolito both of Tucson, AZ and Mark (Becky) Ippolito of Belleville; two daughters, Sue (Tom) Clark of Jeisyville and Nancy (Ron) Broaddus of Florence; ten grandchildren, Zac Broaddus, Heather Shields, Tate, Chris, Jakob and Maggie Clark, Aaron Sidles, Wendy Ippolito and Sam and Mark Ippolito; one brother Harry Bauereiss and five great grandchildren. She is also fondly remembered and loved by sister-in-law, Anna Mae Fitzgerald and several nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, four sisters and two brothers.
Visitation will be 8:00 - 10:00 a.m., Friday, January 25, 2013 at Staab Funeral Home, 1109 South 5th Street, Springfield. Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, January 25, 2013 at St. James Church in Riveton, with Reverend Paul DeMoreno officiating.
