James Joseph Karmazinas, 60, of Kendrick, ID, passed away Tuesday, February 19, 2013 at Scared Heart Hospital from the effects of a prolonged seizure. He was surrounded by his wife, step-daughter and her husband.
Jim was born July 27,1952 in Taylorville, IL to Joseph P. Karmazinas and Catherine M. Yankausky Karmazinas. He married Beth Irene Lindstrom in Taylorville, IL on January 18, 1991. Jim moved to Lewiston, Idaho in 1974 because he loved hunting and fishing and he thought this would be a good place. He moved to Weippe in 1975 when he got a job at Jaypee unit of Potlatch Corporation. Jaypee was closed in 2000 and he transferred to Potlatch in Lewiston where he stayed until his retirement on January 1, 2009. After his retirement Jim and Beth moved to Three Bear Road outside of Kendrick, ID. Jim was a good friend, hard worker and spent his time freely helping his step-daughter, his step-granddaughter and his parents whenever they needed him. He was not a perfect man but he was a good man and he will be forever in our hearts. Jim has many good friends in Taylorville; some of his closest are Bill, Kevin, Johnny and Richard.
Survivors include his wife, Beth Karmazinas at their home in Kendrick, one step-daughter, Billie Lindstrom (Bruce) of Clarkston, one step-granddaughter, Courteney Ellis (Brandon), and the greatest joy of his life his step great-grandson, James Dean Ellis. He is also survived by his cousins Barbara Page (Al) of Spokane, Billie Karmazinas and Vicky Karmazinas of Taylorville. His parents and his sister, Joann Karmazinas Wood preceded Jim in death.
Jim has been cremated and private services are planned for a later date.
