Larry Dunn, 66, of Peoria, IL, passed away Friday, November 29, 2013 at Heartland Health Care Center in Peoria.
He was born January 14, 1947 in Taylorville, IL to Lawrence E. and Cecilia Chlebus Dunn. He married Deborah J. Cook August 7, 1976 in Peoria Heights and she survives him. Larry graduated from Taylorville High School and Eastern Illinois University where he received his Bachelor of Science Degree in Business. He owned Coleman Printing Company in Peoria for 35 years, last working in April 2013. Larry attended St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church in Peoria Heights. He was a dedicated member, and served as past president for all of the following organizations: Old Timers Baseball Association, Independent Sportsman’s Club, Bradley Braves Club, Tower Park Board of Directors, Greater Peoria Sports Hall of Fame, Metro Fast pitch River City Rage, and Boys and Girls Clubs of Peoria. He was a member of the Eagles Club at Florida Gulf State University.
He was an avid Bradley Basketball fan since 1971. He was also a St. Louis Cardinal and a Florida Gulf State University fan. He was a great husband, and had a large number of friends and business associates, and will be greatly missed.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by one sister, Mary (Robert) Bell of Taylorville, several nieces and nephews as well as great nieces and nephews.
His Funeral Mass will be held Tuesday, December 3, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Thomas Catholic Church, Peoria Heights, IL. A burial will follow at Chillicothe City Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. Monday, December 2, 2013 at Davison-Fulton Woolsey-Wilton Funeral Home and one hour prior to the Mass Tuesday at the church.
