Janice Marie (Doore) Toca, 75, of Decatur, Ill. passed away on Thursday, January 12, 2017 in her residence surrounded by her family.
A service to celebrate and honor Janice’s life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 21, 2017 at Dawson & Wikoff West Wood Street Funeral Home. The family will receive friends for a time of visitation one hour prior to the service. Janice will be laid to rest next to her husband Kenneth in Graceland Cemetery.
Janice was born on September 16, 1941 in Decatur, Ill., the daughter of Cecil and Esther (Danford) Doore. She was a 1959 graduate of Stephen Decatur High School. Janice married Kenneth Toca on October 18, 1959 at South Shores United Methodist Church. He preceded her in death in 2003. She was a bookkeeper for Black & Company retiring after many years of service. She also had worked for Emerson Music, Rath Packing, St. Mary’s Hospital and Decatur Memorial Hospital. Janice was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene. She loved traveling with her family and friends, shopping with Aunt Emily Snipes, listening to Elvis and her dog Precious.
Janice is survived by her daughter: Sheri Shelton of North Canton, Ohio; grandchildren: Lyndsey (Jacob) Perrenoud of North Canton, Ohio and Joshua Shelton of North Canton, Ohio; brothers: Jack (Linda) Doore of Decatur, Ill. and Jerry (Marty) Doore of Wedgefield, S.C.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, daughter: Suzanne Toca and her son: Thomas Toca.
