Leo Otis “Odie” Clark, 75, of Stonington, Ill. passed away at 6:00 p.m. on Friday, March 10, 2017 in his residence.
A service to honor and celebrate Odie’s life will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 18, 2017 at Meridian Community Church of God. The family will receive friends for a time of visitation from 11:00-1:00 on Saturday at the church. Odie will be laid to rest in Old Stonington Cemetery. Dawson & Wikoff Funeral Home, Blue Mound is assisting the family with arrangements.
Odie was born on January 29, 1942 in Stonington, Ill., the son of Otis and Ruby (Poundstone) Clark. He married Mary Ellen Thompson on May 2, 1998. Odie retired from Sears & Roebuck, worked at West Main Liquor, Wagner Casting Co., Lucky Lady and Long’s Tavern. He had previously owned a gas station and towing Company in Champaign and he owned and operated Ollene’s Tavern in Stonington.
Odie is survived by his wife: Mary Ellen Clark of Stonington, Ill.; children: Kim Freeman of Eldorado, Kansas, Angelina Hanners of Texas, Christi (Seth) Schwartz of Walnut Creek, Calif., Katrina Hall of Stonington, Ill., Randy Clark of Decatur, Ill., George Booker of Mt. Zion, Ill. and Johnna (Scott) Vincent of Mt. Auburn, Ill.; brother: Lloyd (Lorraine) Clark of Kings Mountain, N.C.; daughter-in-law: Carol Clark of Springfield, Ill.; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and especially his church family.
He was preceded in death by his parents, 2 wives, sons: Scott and Michael Clark and his brothers and sisters.
