William L. “Bill” Rench, 67, of Sheldon passed away on Tuesday, June 20, 2017 at his home. He was born on July 19, 1949 in Vandalia, Ill., the son of Raymond D. and Helen I. Sussen Rench. He married Carol Hummel in Watseka on December 31, 1994 and she survives.
Surviving are his wife, Carol Jean Rench, of Sheldon; children, Cortni Cox, Kimberly Rench, William “BJ” Rench, Beau Rench, and Aaron Rench; step-children, Bethany Keller and Joshua Howard; five grandchildren and five step-grandchildren; siblings, Wilford (Judy) Rench, Carroll (Betty) Rench, Betty Watkins, Sandra Thorton, and youngest brother, Darrell (Judy) Rench; and sister-in-law, Joyce (Greg) Koon.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, John; one sister, Marie; and an infant son, Bryan Shane.
William “Bill” Rench served his country in the United States Army from 1969-1975. Bill was awarded a Certificate of Safe Driving in 2016 as a professional truck driver with 31 years of driving without a preventable accident. He logged 33 years total with Schneider and ABF. He enjoyed telling of his many adventures and the friends he made over the years on the road. Bill was a beloved husband, father, friend, and devoted “PaPa”. He was well known for his smile, his warm handshake, and his love of telling corny jokes. He will be missed.
