Dorothy Lucille Smith, 94, of Nokomis, IL, passed away July 9, 2017 at 4:45 a.m. at Heritage Manor in Pana, Ill.
She was born on November 7, 1922 in Kirksville, MO, a daughter of the late Halex and Alta (Munden) Griswold.
She graduated from high school and went on to complete two years of Nurses Training Program.
Dorothy married Guy M. Smith on November 22, 1941 in Smithland, Ill. and he preceded her in death on May 19, 1979.
She was a member of the United Methodist Church of Nokomis and the Farm Bureau. Dorothy enjoyed being a farm wife.
She is survived by her children; Ruth Ann (Dr. Robert) Lacey of Nokomis, Paul (Diane) Smith of Ramsey, David (Teresa) of Nokomis; grandchildren: Hunt Lacey of Altoona, Wisc., Raquel Lacey-Nelson of Champagin, Ill., Billie Jo Keply of Arcola, Ill., Jay Paul Smith of Carlyle, Ill., Beau Smith of Ramsey, Ill., Jerry Lee Smith of Fond du Lac, Wisc., Jacob Merele Smith of Grafton, Ill., Mary Belle Smith of Nokomis, Ill.; great-grandchildren: Briar Smith, Amelia, Alleigha, and Alara Nelson, Arabella and Flynn Lacey, Kyle, Kayla, and Kolton Kapley, Brianna, Isaac and Chole Smith, Kabe, Drake, Mya Smith, Megan, Jacob, Molly, and Jaren Diekemper, Parker Smith; great-great-grandchildren: McKenzie Sue Smith and Mathias Smith.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and brothers, William and Jack Griswold.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, July, 15, 2017 at 11:00 a.m.. at the United Methodist Church of Nokomis. Pastor Steve Williams will officiate. Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. until time of service at the church. Burial will be in the Nokomis City Cemetery in Nokomis, Ill.
