Sheila passed away peacefully on May 6, 2017 surrounded by her family. She was born on April 1, 1945 in Ancon Canal Zone, Panama to Patricia M. and William J. Sheridan Jr. She graduated from Balboa High School in 1963 and moved to California (San Mateo, Santa Clara and San Jose).
She lived a life of service to others through various volunteer efforts such as the National Council on Alcoholism, Habitat for Humanity, the Bishop’s Circle and hospice care. Sheila led a vibrant life. She loved to golf, swim, read and traveled to all seven continents. She was happiest when visiting friends and family.
Sheila is the beloved mother of Bob (Erika) and Ken (Sharon), as well as six grandchildren: Gaven, Zach, Emma, Liam, Bryson and Benny. She is survived by sisters Sharon (Pat) Marucco and Kathleen Sheridan, one nephew and three nieces: Jake, Lydia, Sheila and Susie. She is pre-deceased by brothers William J. Sheridan III, Kevin A. Sheridan, Philip M. Sheridan and her parents.
Friends and family are invited to a funeral service on Saturday, September 2, 2017 at 11 a.m. at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Stonington, Ill. There will be a visitation one hour before the service, beginning at 10 a.m.
Sheila’s generous loving spirit will be missed by all who knew her.
