Kenneth D. Lebeter, 71, of Morrisonville, passed away Saturday, September 23, 2017 at 12:53 a.m., at Memorial Medical Center in Springfield, Ill.
He was born January 29, 1946 in Peoria, Ill., the son of Albert “Dude” and G. Madeline Harmon Lebeter.
Kenneth proudly served his country in the United States Army. After his honorable discharge, he worked as coal miner for 33 years, retiring from Crown #2 Mine. He was a lifetime member of the NRA, member of the American Legion Post 721 in Morrisonville, as well as a past Boy Scout troop leader. Kenneth also volunteered for the Morrisonville Ambulance for many years. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and spending time outdoors, but most of all he loved spending time with his grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Kenneth is survived by his son, Mike (wife, Linda) Lebeter of Morrisonville, Ill.; daughter, Robbi Lynn (companion, Brian Martin) Weeks of Litchfield, Ill.; grandchildren: Katrina (husband, Mark) Grundy of Morrisonville, Ill., Madeline Lebeter of Cape Girardeau, Mo., and Jonathan Martin of Litchfield, Ill.; brother, Neil (wife, Carolyn) Lebeter of Taylorville, Ill.; and niece, Jenni Lebeter of Morrisonville, Ill.
The family will receive guests from 9:00 a.m. until the time of ceremony at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, September 27, 2017 at Grace Baptist Church, 900 Northern Ave., Taylorville, Ill. 62568, with Pastor Gerald McPhillips, celebrant.
Interment will follow the ceremony at Glenhaven Memorial Garden in Taylorville.
