David Louis Peabody, age 69, of Aurora, Ill. passed away on September 29, 2017 in his home after a short battle with cancer.
He was born November 19, 1947 in Springfield, Ill. David grew up in Stonington, Ill., the son of Roy and Frankie Peabody. He had six siblings: Deane (Pam) Peabody, Mike Peabody (deceased), Kevin (Sharon) Peabody, Nancy (Joe) Mateer, Jeff (Betty) Peabody, Carolyn (Doug) Brown. David was a beloved husband of 40 years to the former Peggy Humphrey and was a loving father to daughters Kate (Shawn) Pfiffner and Angela (Jeremy Williams) Peabody. He was the proud grandfather to Mia, Zoe and Franklin David Pfiffner.
David also leaves behind many nieces and nephews and other extended members who are part of this, awesome loving Peabody family.
David served in the Navy. He worked at Caterpillar in Montgomery, Ill. for 33 1/2 years, including two years over seas. David volunteered for AARP helping people file their taxes. He was a member of Holy Trinity Church in Stonington.
David was preceded in death by his parents and his brother Mike.
Family and friends will gather Saturday, October 7, 2017 at 11:30 a.m. for a celebration of life service at Fox Valley Christian Church in Batavia, Ill.
