He married the love of his life, Lillian Helen Taylor, on June 21, 1953 in the Bethel Baptist Church in Sharpsburg. Everett was happiest when he was working, and he retired as a maintenance mechanic/millwright for the Georgia-Pacific paper mill. He was a member of the First Baptist Church. Everett loved antique automobiles and vintage aircraft and has owned several antique cars including Model T's over the years. He had vast knowledge of the cars and was a skilled mechanic. He was a member of the Model T Club of America and the Prairie State Model T Club. Everett was also a talented woodworker and enjoyed many home improvement projects with Helen. He loved his family above all and was proud of each of them. Everett was wholly dedicated to being a loving husband, father, and grandfather, and he is fiercely loved by his family in return. He was a great man who could do anything.
