Chris D. Durbin, 60, of Monticello, formerly of Rosamond, died Friday, November 17, 2017 at his home. He was born December 31, 1956 in Hillsboro, Ill., son of Charles “Sie” and Leona (Kluthe) Durbin.
Chris received his Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Illinois in 1988. He was the owner and operator of Media Works, an independent production company. He had worked for various media groups as a commercial producer for local businesses. Chris was a writer, director, and producer for many local projects, including “Abraham Lincoln’s Inaugural Journey.” He also built and installed sound boards and other electrical systems for many churches and colleges, and was an avid reader.
Chris is survived by his mother, Leona Durbin, Pana, Ill; children: Bailey (Jeff) Hancock of Taylorville; Ty (Raqual) Durbin of Taylorville; Christopher T. Durbin of California; and Olivia Pollard of Indiana; grandchildren: Laila Hancock, Jace Hancock, Landyn Durbin, Ashton Durbin; brother, Larry (Audrey) Durbin of Herrick; and sisters: Marcia Freed and Cathy (Dale) Rigsby, both of Fairbury, Ill. He was preceded in death by his father on July 5, 2012 and brother, Roger Charles Durbin.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, November 22, 2017 in McCracken-Dean Funeral Home at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Bert Eickhoff officiating. Visitation will be Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. until service time in the funeral home.
Cremation rites will then be accorded with inurnment at a later date. www.mdfh.com
