Patrick Anthony Joseph “AJ” Young, 32, passed away Monday, January 1, 2018 at his home in Morrisonville, Ill. He was born January 20, 1985 in Honolulu, Hawaii. AJ was employed by Miller Flooring of Taylorville.

He joined the United States Army and served from March 17, 2005 to January 13, 2007.

AJ was very creative and loved drawing, painting or creating something with his hands. He was a huge fan of the LA Lakers, super heroes and playing X-Box games. His greatest love, however, was for his fiance Holli Walden and their six year old daughter Natalie Young. AJ and Holli met on January 15, 2009 and have been together ever since.

He is survived by his fiance, Holli Walden and daughter Natalie Young, of Morrisonville, father, Alan W. Jones (fiance Kim Paisley) of Taylorville, mother, Pam Ferguson of Pensacola, Fla., Tammy Jones, a second mother to him, father-in-law Mark (Katie) Walden of Girard, Ill., mother-in-law Heidi Walden of Taylorville, one sister, Randi Jones (fiance Tyler Brandis), eight brothers: Corey Jones of Hewitville, Ill., Aaron Jones (Brianna) of Taylorville, Brandon, Benjamin and Nicholas Jones, all of Oceanside, Calif., Timmy Young, Mikey Young and Matt Young (girlfriend Brittney Stewart), step-grandmother Linda Jones of Taylorville, grandfather-in-law Eldon Walden of Girard, Ill., his maternal grandfather of Texas, brother-in-law Lane Walden (Allie) of Decatur, Ill., sister-in-law, Amy (Marc) Baker of Girard, nieces: Keira Jones, Emma Costigan, Marilynn Young, Shianne and Alexia Baker, nephews: Rylie Jones, Nash Brandis, Colton Baker and Hunter Walden, as well as several aunts, uncles and cousins.

AJ was predeceased by his grandfather Roger E. Jones, grandmother Donna Lee (Copenhaver) Smith and his maternal grandmother.

Cremation rites were accorded.

A celebration of life with military rites was held Saturday, February 17, 2018 at Davis Memorial Christian Church with Rev. Tom Bellegante officiating.

Inurnment will be held at a later date. Sutton Memorial Home in Taylorville assisted the family with arrangements.
