Ronald Gillman Kress, 79, of Cedar Park, Texas, formerly of Tell City, Indiana, passed away April 4th, 2018, at St. David’s Hospital in Round Rock, Texas.
Ronald was born September 29, 1938, in Tell City, Indiana, the son of the late Gillman and Lillian Kress.
He married June Ann Hoesli September 10th, 1960, at St. Paul’s Church in Tell City, Indiana. He was a graduate of Tell City High School and Lockyear Business College. He worked for Sears and Roebuck for over 30 years as a district manager.
He was a lover of books who made the most of every day, an avid tennis player, having enjoyed playing for over 60 years. He also enjoyed spending time with his family and going to his grandchildren’s sporting events. He also enjoyed swimming and floating and the occasional margarita.
He will be sadly missed by his wife June, his children, Ron Jr. and wife Rindy, of Cedar Park, Texas; Jeff and wife Sharon of Cedar Park, Texas; Tim and wife Tammy of Georgetown, Texas; Melissa and husband Bruce Engeling of Owaneco, Illinois,;and Matt of Taylorville, Illinois.
He will also be sadly missed by his grandchildren: Kyrie Kress of Austin, Texas, Luke and Maddie Kress of Cedar Park, Texas; Jeff Kress, Jr., of Austin, Texas, Samantha Massad and husband, Sam, of Stafford, Virginia, Ally Kress of Denver, Colorado, Dominic and Jane Kress of Cedar Park, Texas; Jacob, Lily, and Mary Kathryn (Scout) Kress of Georgetown, Texas; Amanda Pickett and husband JD of Taylorville, Illinois; Emilee Engeling of Littleton, Colorado, David Engeling and wife, Kastin of Atwater, Illinois; and Jordan Kress and Mollie Kress of Taylorville, Illinois. He will also be missed by his great-grandchildren: Libbey, Bennett, and Jamison Pickett; Rowen Engeling; Blaine and Reid Donaldson; and Emersyn Massad. Ron was also survived by his sister, Judy Jellison of Evansville, Indiana and brother David Kress of Sun City, Texas. He was preceded in death by his parents, Gillman and Lillian Kress and sister-in-law, Becky Kress.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, April 12, at 6:00 pm with a Rosary to follow at 7:00 pm at Beck Funeral Home in Cedar Park, Texas. Funeral services will be held on Friday, April 13, 2018, at 11:00 am at St. Louis Catholic Church in Austin, Texas.
