Ellen L. (Germann) Chambers passed away on June 6th, 2018, surrounded by her family. Ellen was born on May 18, 1935, in Pawnee, Illinois, to Clifford and Betty (Willoughby) Germann. She graduated from Pawnee High School and then worked as a telephone operator in Taylorville, Illinois. She married Bob Lee Chambers in 1956. Bob and Ellen and their expanding family, moved to southern California in 1959, where in addition to raising 5 rambunctious boys, Ellen sold jewelry and became a very accomplished seamstress. In 1977, the entire family relocated to Edmond Oklahoma, and Ellen joined “The Decorating Gallery”, making hand crafted specialty draperies, curtains, comforters and other interior design accessories. Ellen later became an independent business woman and continued to use her skills for multiple designers across Edmond and Oklahoma City. She worked until the week before she was hospitalized. Ellen was preceded in death by her parents, a sister (Dorothy) brothers (Clifford, Donald, Jay and Charles) and her loving husband of so many years, Bob. She leaves behind another sister (Anne Millburg) and brother (Jim Germann) as well as her children: Bobby and wife Dora, Rick and wife Brenda, Rodney, Rory and Randy. She will also be missed by her 8 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren, as well as her ‘decorating group’ and “AMI” friends. Services will be 10:00 a.m. Tuesday June 12, 2018 at Matthews Funeral Home Chapel in Edmond, Okla. with interment to follow.
