Tornadoes survive scare in semifinal
LITCHFIELD — Five Taylorville players surround Civic Memorial’s Jakob Lowrance (50) in the first half. Pictured for the Tornadoes is Mitchell Rhymes (4), Connor Patrick (30), Cole Sheedy (24), Cole Owens (22) and Blake Heimsness (14). Lowrance finished with 21 points and 18 rebounds but  Taylorville got the 59-57 win.

Terriers get two wins over Auburn

The Taylorville Terrier sixth grade boys picked up two wins over Auburn on Thursday night.

The A team beat Auburn 32-18, led by eight points from M Clayton, while May, Repscher and Cherry all added five.

Tornadoes take the sting out of Hornets

The Lady Tornadoes made sure they marked their spot in the trophy game right away, jumping out to a 16-0 lead to start the game.

Taylorville led 20-3 after the first quarter and cruised to an easy 53-32 win over Nashville.

**Video included in article** The only reason the score was remotely respectable was the result of Roxana draining 13 three-pointers of their own.

Taylorville still had a running clock for the entire fourth quarter and cruised for an 84-58 winner.

Highland survives scare from Tornadoes

The eleventh ranked team in the state in Class 3A girls basketball got a scare on their home floor, in their own tournament on Tuesday night.

The Taylorville girls came in unafraid and played with the Bulldogs for three and a half quarters.

Litchfield Invitational: Top seeds get no trouble in opener

**Video included in article**Taylorville dismantled the Oilers with a total team effort, led by Blake Heimsness’ hot hand off the bench.

Heimsness went six for nine from three point range and put up 21 points to lead the Tornadoes.

Taylorville bowling advances out of own regional
The Taylorville Tornado boys bowling team hosted the regional at Spare Time Lanes in Decatur on Saturday and were able to advance to the sectional.
