CHARLESTON —  This past Tuesday, the Taylorville Lady Tornadoes pulled off an incredible win over one of their biggest rivals, in the Pana Panthers, and following the conclusion of that game, Taylorville head coach Mark Hannant brought Thursday’s conference matchup with the 20-1 Charleston Trojans, who are also the eighth ranked team in the state, by saying “We’re looking forward to going over to Charleston and seeing if we can get an upset over there, somehow. We’ve been looking for that one upset this year to really help build the season.”

TAYLORVILLE — At the start of the 2015-2016 basketball season, new Taylorville varsity boys basketball coach, Ryan Brown, compared his strategy for this years basketball team that of the Tornado football team, in that he wanted to have a solid defense that would put the offense in good positions to win games. Friday night’s performance by the Tornadoes was the perfect example of that, as they completely dominated the Charleston Trojans for an 84-53 win.
