Pana boys sending nine to IHSA Track Class 1A State Finals
Pana’s Eli Waterman, Adam Miller, Jack Epley, and Jared Beyers set a pair of school records this season in the 4x100 and 4x200-meter relays and will head to the IHSA Class 1A State Finals this weekend, in Charleston.

He had the hitters off balance, he was mixing speeds, going inside and out; it was just really good to see,” said Pana Head Coach Mike Malisia of DeWerff’s one-run complete-game against the Hillsboro Hiltoppers on Friday, a game Pana won 3-1. “When he was ahead in the count, he was throwing his pitch. He didn’t throw many hitters’ pitches tonight, and his cutter and changeup were really working well.”

PANA — After a 3-0 start in tournament play, the Pana Lady Panther soccer team was looking to continue their success on Tuesday as they opened their regular season slate against the Lady Braves of Mt. Zion.

The Panthers came away with a 2-0 victory in the pair’s first contest during tournament play, and on Tuesday, Pana doubled them up, both on the scoreboard and in the win column as they cruised to a 4-0 win.
