Panthers stay alive in playoff hunt

Pana survived a week eight battle with Vandalia 34-28 to set up another South Central Conference showdown in week nine against the Hilltoppers.

Panthers lose title game

 The Pana Panthers wanted their rematch and they got it. Unfortunately the results were the same.

Hillsboro ended Pana’s season on Friday night in the Raymond soccer regional championship with a 2-1 win over the Panthers.

Panthers top Hilltoppers on pink night

On Volley for a Cure night, the Pana Panthers took care of the Hillsboro Hilltoppers for a two set win 25-16, 25-18.

Pana improved to 17-14 on the year and 4-3 in the South Central Conference with the win.

Panthers can't control Cavaliers

The Pana Panthers suffered their third South Central Conference loss on Tuesday night, this one to Carlinville at home.

Pana lost in two straight sets 15-25, 18-25 to fall to 3-3 in the SCC and 16-14 overall on the season.

The Pana Panthers lost two games in pool play of the Shelbyville Invite on Saturday morning, while winning just one, putting them in a tough spot for the afternoon session of the tournament.

Panthers shut out Hilltoppers

The Pana Panthers got a goal each from the usual suspects and goalkeeper Jack Epley kept the home team from scoring.

Pana defeated Mt. Pulaski 2-0 on Tuesday night for their tenth win of the year.

Bland and LaMarche advance

The Pana Panther boys golf team traveled to Effingham for regionals today. It was a wet delayed start but the Panthers will advance two individuals with a score of 90 to sectionals. Kody Bland and Jim LaMarche.

Staunton spoils Pana senior day

Their senior day started out like it was supposed to, Braden Bumgardner found Nick Copley 16 minutes in for a goal to put Pana up 1-0 on Staunton.

After that, the Bulldogs flipped the script and spoiled Copley and Bumgardner’s special day.

Ponies push through mud for much needed win
The South Fork Ponies were able to push through the mud for a 12-0 win over Mt. Olive to keep their playoff hopes alive. Taylorville lost at Effingham for their first defeat of the year. The Pana Panthers tried to hang with undefeated Greenville, but their passing attack was too much and the Panthers fell 55-21. Finally, the Central A&M Raiders went on the road to Warrensburg-Latham and could not get their offense going, suffering a 27-7 loss.

Hrabak helps Pana sweep Litchfield

 Phoebe Hrabak totaled 15 service points and 11 assists to lead the Pana Panthers past the Litchfield Purple Panthers on Thursday night.

Pana swept Litchfield in two sets 25-19, 25-21 to improve to 14-10 on the year and 3-2 in conference.
