The Pana Panthers will play for their 20th win on Tuesday night after defeating St. Elmo in the Litchfield Class 2A regional on Monday.

Pana knocked off St. Elmo in two sets 25-19, 25-19 to pick up their 19th win of the season.

For the first time in seven years and the first time under Stupek, Pana will miss the playoffs.

Hillsboro became playoff eligible on Friday night with the 29-15 win.

Vandals push past Panthers in two sets

Coming off a tough home loss on Tuesday night, the Pana Panthers suffered a road loss on Thursday in their final South Central Conference game of the season.

Pana lost at Vandalia 17-25, 21-25 to fall to 5-4 in the SCC this year and 18-16 overall.

Taylorville and Pana dive into week nine

Next week is Halloween for most people and Friday night  the 31st, is a night for trick or treating and dressing up.

But for the Pana Panthers, the only costume they hope to be putting on is their football jerseys for at least one more week.

The IHSA football playoffs will start next Friday night and the Pana Panthers are hoping to make plans that include playing in week ten.

The Taylorville Tornadoes already locked up their playoff berth, but are playing for bigger things in week ten.

Pana senior night spoiled by Shoes

Pana got down early to Teutopolis and lost the first set, came back and won the second but couldn’t come through in the third and were handed their 15th loss of the year. 

The Wooden Shoes came away with a 25-21, 20-25, 25-17 win over the Panthers.

Panthers squeak by Shells on Saturday

Lexie Siegert and Shayna Stremming came up big on Saturday and helped Pana to a three set win over Roxana.

The Panthers picked up their fifth South Central Conference win of the year with a 15-25, 25-18, 25-14 win to improve to 18-14 on the season overall.

On Volley for a Cure night, the Pana Panthers took care of the Hillsboro Hilltoppers for a two set win 25-16, 25-18.

Pana improved to 17-14 on the year and 4-3 in the South Central Conference with the win.

The Pana Panthers suffered their third South Central Conference loss on Tuesday night, this one to Carlinville at home.

Pana lost in two straight sets 15-25, 18-25 to fall to 3-3 in the SCC and 16-14 overall on the season.
