Pana can't get late looks to fall against Lebanon
LITCHFIELD — With just 39 seconds left in regulation, Pana had the ball and held a one-point advantage over Lebanon. On the inbound play, the defender stepped in front of a Jacob Beeson pass and raced toward the hoop. The shot bounced off the backboard and clanked off the front of the iron, but the shrill of the ensuing whistle would give the Greyhounds a chance for the go-ahead points.

PANA - Even after 18 days off, the Pana Lady Panthers still looked pretty sharp in their first game of the new year on Saturday afternoon as the downed the Roxana Shells 63-38.

"It was nice to get the win today," Pana head coach Jason Storm said. "We expected a pretty ugly first half, and it took us awhile to get going offensively, but once we got our legs back underneath us, we kind of got back into our rhythm."

PANA — It may have been the Silent Night game in Pana on Friday, but Panther Nation  had plenty to cheer about. 

Pana scored 14 in the first quarter;  Jacob Beeson, Jack Armstrong, and Jonah Lauff scored four points each to give the Panthers a 14-5 lead after the first.

PANA — The Panthers took a 36-27 lead heading into the fourth quarter. With a lead like that, the Panthers were cementing their victory, they hadn’t lost a game all year where they led going into the fourth. But tonight was different, the Cavaliers went on a 15-4 run in the fourth quarter that felled the Panthers 42-40.

Newton brings Pana VB season to a close at sectionals
ROBINSON — After winning set one 25-10, the Panthers looked to be in prime position to move on to Wednesday’s Sectional title game against Kansas. Newton fought back to win set two 25-20. Set three was primed to be classic. Newton jumped out to an early 14-10 lead, but Pana continued to fight and brought it to 19-18. The Panthers just couldn’t get over the Eagles and Newton would take set three 25-20. This was the third meeting in three years these two teams faced off in the Sectional semi-finals, Newton took all three in three sets.

Honestly, this is the first group that I have actually had to say no on practice times to.
