Edinburg Wildcats fall to Tri-City baseball 7-4
The Edinburg Wildcats had runners on second and third with two outs in the bottom of the seventh with the winning run at the plate. Unfortunately, he would strike out to end the game and the Wildcats are still looking for their first win of the season after falling to the Tornadoes 7-4.

Wilkinson, Mohawks pick up shutout over Edinburg
Wednesday was the third time that the Edinburg and Morrisonville softball teams tried to face off due to Mother Nature; they were originally set to get this one in on Monday, but they were unable to do so due to rain and cold temperatures.

Deal's one-hitter helps Mohawks top Wildcats in five innings
The Edinburg Wildcats and the Morrisonville Mohawks squared off on a neutral site Wednesday night at Lenz Field in Jacksonville. Many of the Wildcats had never played on turf before and the Mohawks took advantage of that early, scoring three runs in the first inning and not looking back as they would continue on to win 11-0 in five innings.

EDINBURG — The Edinburg Wildcat bats went cold on Friday night against Warrensburg-Latham, a trend the ladies hadn’t yet seen in their young season. Amassing just two hits on the night and scoring one run, the Wildcats were unable to get solid contact on the ball, with a lot of ground outs at the plate.

MOWEAQUA— Two County teams faced off on the softball diamond on Thursday as the Edinburg Wildcats traveled to Moweaqua to take on the Central A&M Raiders. The Raiders were riding a three-game winning streak which would extend to four as they would come-from-behind and win 7-4.

Edinburg baseball falls to North Mac 9-3
The Edinburg Wildcat baseball team fell to the North Mac Panthers 9-3 on Tuesday. The Wildcats just weren’t able to get anything going at the plate as their hits were in the latter half of the game, and they weren’t able to string any of them together.

The weather may have been cold on Tuesday night, but the Wildcat bats were not as they put together 17 hits to score 17 runs as Isabelle Saunders drilled a three-run homerun over the left field fence to walk-off for the Wildcats.

The Edinburg Wildcats traveled to Maroa to face off against the Trojans for the Wildcats’ opening game. The Wildcats hung with the Trojans for three solid innings, but Maroa hit Dylan Bartlett hard in the fourth and the Wildcats allowed eight runs in that inning.

Edinburg baseball looks to replace eight seniors
The Edinburg Wildcats will look to reload their stacked team from a year ago as  they graduated their entire statring infield, plus four other seniors. With only four seniors on the team this season, head coach Brad Herzog said, “A lot of our freshmen and sophomores are going to have to catch up awfully quick as they are going to get their chances to perform in varsity games.”

Edinburg closes season with thriller in Nokomis
NOKOMIS — The Wildcats and the Rams squared off in game one of the Nokomis regional on Monday. It was a seesaw game throughout as neither team gained a true advantage over the other. Despite the Rams going just 1-4 on free throws in the final nine-seconds, the Wildcats deep ball just wouldn’t fall through for them and their season ended as the Rams won 60-56.
