Morrisonville baseball hangs on to win 9-7
The Morrisonville Mohawks picked up an extra game so not to get rusty before their regional game. The Mohawks faced off against Decatur LSA on Monday and took a 7-0 lead after two innings. Two runs in the fourth from the Lions cut the deficit to five, but the Mohawks made it a six-run lead after scoring another run in the bottom half.

The Morrisonville Mohawks traveled over to Virden on Friday afternoon to face off against the North Mac Panthers. Morrisonville took an early lead by scoring a run in the first inning, but a two-run homerun in the sixth inning from the Panthers would take away the lead and ultimately win the game 2-1.

The Morrisonville Mohawks got to celebrate three big things on Tuesday after their 7-2 win over Lutheran, not only did the Mohawks claim the outright MSM conference title but also Adam Deal became the single season strikeout leader ending the night with 123 on the season and it was senior night.

The Morrisonville Mohawk baseball team held a one-run lead going into the sixth inning against the North Mac Panthers on Monday night. They would get four runs in the top of the sixth to extend their lead and allow just one run to the Panthers in the seventh to win by four, 7-3.

The Morrisonville Mohawk softball team got out to an early lead on Monday night against the Central A&M Raiders, but the Raiders were able to use their home field advantage to cut the lead down to just one in the next inning. Both teams continued to fight and have the answers for one another, but the Mohawks had just enough to top the Raiders 8-7.

It was a special night on the softball field for Morrisonville’s  Bailey Wilkinson as she smacked two homeruns on the night and also struck out 16 Lancers in an 8-1 victory over Lincolnwood Thursday. Among those 16 strikeouts, Wilkinson also registered strikeout number 350 on her career.

The Staunton Bulldogs would come to Morrisonville on Wednesday to face off against the Mohawks. Staunton scored just one run in the second and one in the fourth and would lead 2-0 going into the final inning. The Bulldogs would score 10 runs in the seventh inning to defeat the Mohawks 12-0 in seven innings.

Mohawks start, finish strong vs. Ramsey

RAMSEY — The Morrisonville Mohawks traveled to Ramsey to face off against the Rams on a frigid Friday afternoon. 

The Mohawks were able to score 10 runs throughout the first three innings and then tack on three more in the fifth, but the Rams were able to score four in the bottom half of the fifth to extend the game out another inning. That was when Morrisonville put it to the Rams, as the Mohawks would add four more runs in the inning to win 17-4 in six innings of play.

RAMSEY — The Morrisonville Mohawks traveled to Ramsey to face off against the Rams on a frigid Friday afternoon.

Deal's one-hitter helps Mohawks top Wildcats in five innings
The Edinburg Wildcats and the Morrisonville Mohawks squared off on a neutral site Wednesday night at Lenz Field in Jacksonville. Many of the Wildcats had never played on turf before and the Mohawks took advantage of that early, scoring three runs in the first inning and not looking back as they would continue on to win 11-0 in five innings.

SHELBYVILLE — The Shelbyville Rams and the Morrisonville Mohawks were tied at four going into the bottom half of the sixth inning, but the Rams were able to get to Adam Deal for three runs as his pitch count crossed the 100 mark. Morrisonville couldn’t do anything in the top half of the inning and were felled 7-4.

Lady Mohawks force extras, fall 6-5
MORRISONVILLE — It looked bleak as the Morrisonville Mohawks headed into the sixth inning without recording a hit. The bats came alive in the sixth as they would not only get their first hits of the game, but also score their first runs as they took a 4-1 lead. Down but not out, Okaw Valley was able to stick around long enough in the game to walk-it off in extras, winning 6-5.
