Raiders win double header

 The Central A&M Raiders got a couple of much needed wins on Saturday, sweeping their double-header with Eisenhower.

A&M won the first game in five innings 13-1. Zach Bugg got the win on the bump, giving up just two hits and one earned run while striking out 11 batters.

The Central A&M Raiders were one hit by Decatur St. Teresa on Thursday night and lost 10-0.

Brock Burgener managed the only hit for A&M and earned a walk.

The pitchers from Windsor were on point Saturday as they completely shut down the Raiders’ bats.

A&M lost both games of their doubleheader on Saturday, the first game they were no-hit, missing a perfect game by just one walk.

Dooley named all state selection

Dooley’s selection to the AP all-state team is quite an accomplishment, especially for a guard who has two years yet to play in high school.

“It feels pretty good to know that all the hard work you put in pays off and my team really helped me with that,” said Dooley, “it’s really my team that helped me to get there.”

Now they know; Raiders ready for next year

A&M finished in fourth place in Class 1A girls basketball after their 55-50 loss to Lanark Eastland on Saturday afternoon.

Nothing to hang their heads about considering they return EVERY SINGLE player next season, but like junior Taylor Jordan said in the post game interview with the press, “It’s hard when you have to adjust to something that you can’t really adjust to. I wish I could say, ‘hey Taylor, grow a foot real quick’ but I can’t.”
