Tornado Golf in full swing under new coach, Brusveen
TAYLORVILLE — The Taylorville Tornado golf team has a new head coach this season, for the second year in a row. Jim Brusveen, a retired teacher and coach who moved back to Taylorville post retirement so that he and his wife could return to the farm where she grew up, has taken the reigns for the THS golf position.

Lady Tornadoes building off strong finish in '14
TAYLORVILLE — Despite not having many wins last season, Tornado volleyball coach Kim Peabody feels they played their strongest volleyball towards the end of the season. “Last season was a rebuilding year for us, and we ended our season with a close loss to Decatur MacArthur in regionals” recalled Peabody.  “We improved greatly throughout the season last year, but this year we have lost Micaela Switzer, who led our team in blocks and played middle hitter, and Brooke Brandis, who led our defense, to graduation.”

2015 Tornadoes look to put their own stamp on history
TAYLORVILLE — To say that the 2015 Taylorville Tornadoes football team has some big shoes to fill could be a bit of an understatement.  Following a season in which the 2014 Tornadoes went on a historic run that included a conference championship, a 3rd round state playoffs appearance, and a finish as Taylorville football’s first ever “Ten Win Tornadoes,” the 2015 squad knows that they are going to have a target on their backs this season.
