Transmission line could bolster co. revenue
TAYLORVILLE - Clean Line Energy Partners of Houston, Texas has proposed the construction of a 3,500 mega watt, 750-mile transmission line stretching from Western Kansas, through Missouri, Central Illinois and Christian County in particular, and terminating in Clark County Indiana.

KINCAID - Village trustees have unanimously approved a commercial re-zoning request for the construction of a Dollar General store on IL Rt. 104 near Division Street in Kincaid.

A special meeting was held last night at the village hall subsequent to a public hearing where a handful of residents addressed concerns over the impact to existing businesses and property values of adjacent residential neighborhoods.

Jury convicts restauranteur on felony charge
TAYLORVILLE - A Christian County Jury, on Wednesday afternoon, convicted a former Taylorville business owner on a felony theft charge for stealing just under $12,000 in restaurant equipment from his landlord.

Following a two-day trial in the Fourth Circuit Court, a 12-person jury deliberated for approximately an hour yesterday afternoon before returning a guilty verdict for 62-year-old Robin M. Naser of Normal, IL, the proprietor of Chicago’s Best restaurant, a now-shuttered Chicago-style eatery located in a space which Naser rented from Taylorville businessman Don Marsango.

TDA eyeing partial sale of recent acquisition
TAYLORVILLE - The Taylorville Development Association (TDA), on September 15th, executed a land trade of their 84-acre industrial park near ADM in Taylorville for 98 acres located between Rt. 29 and Rt. 104. Now, the association is eyeing a partial sell-off of roughly 50 acres of their new land; the revenue being tagged to pay off existing debt and to act as financial leverage for potential grants.
