SPRINGFIELD — The Animal Protective League (APL) will hold dog and cat adoptions at PetSmart off of Veterans Parkway this weekend. On Saturday July 15, adoptable cats will be available from 11 a.m. until 4 p.m. and adoptable dogs will be available from noon until 3 p.m. On Sunday, July 16, adoptable cats will be available from 11 a.m. until 4 p.m.
The shelter is open daily from noon until 5 p.m. and is located at 1001 Taintor Rd across from the Illinois State Fairgrounds. All dogs and cats from APL have been spayed or neutered, microchipped and have received all vaccinations by the time of their adoption.
APL is a non-profit organization committed to caring for sick, injured, abused and abandoned dogs and cats and finding the best possible permanent homes for them. In addition to regular pet adoptions, the organization coordinates cruelty investigations and humane education programs and operates a low cost spay/neuter clinic adjacent to its Springfield shelter.
