Minister's Message: Work
TAYLORVILLE — We’re headed into a holiday weekend, which lots of people will enjoy because it means an extra day off. But many of us aren’t exactly sure how to celebrate this holiday. It’s not like Memorial Day or Independence Day, when we celebrate our country. It’s not Christmas or Easter, when we celebrate something about our faith. Those are more straightforward. On this holiday, we celebrate work by...not working, which definitely seems counter-intuitive. Of course, Labor Day does have a history that explains all of this, but most of us don’t bother to explore much of that.
