At the March 15, 2018 City of Taylorville Ordinance Committee meeting, aldermen reviewed a draft of a proposed solar ordinance that would govern the implementation of solar farms in the City of Taylorville. At that time, the creation of this ordinance was said to be preemptive. When asked, the committee indicated that they were unaware of any immanent development of a solar farm in Taylorville.
