Helen R. Trost, 92, of Taylorville, IL, died at 4:50 p.m. Friday, March 8, 2013 at St. John’s Hospital, Springfield, IL.

She was born December 17, 1920, in Sangamon County, the daughter of George and Cecilia Pearl Milliken Wilcockson. On May 15, 1942, she married Ralph E., Trost in Taylorville, IL.  He preceded her in death on July 6, 1997.  In her early years Helen worked at the Department of Transportation in Washington, D.C., and later worked for D.W. Johnston, an attorney in Taylorville. Mrs. Trost was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Taylorville, United Methodist Women of the Church, and the Taylorville Women’s Club. She delivered Meals on Wheels, and enjoyed playing golf, playing bridge, bowling and playing the piano.  

Surviving are her sons: David R. Trost and wife Rhonda of Taylorville; Steven M. Trost and wife Keesun of South Korea; four Daughters: Sharyn Ann Haines and husband Duane of Richmond, TX, Carol Lynn Lykins and husband William of Brodhead, KY, Barbara Lee Bills and husband Robert of Bloomington, and Lynn Ann Chavdarov of Santa Ana, CA. Nine Grandchildren: Brian Haines, Susan Donovan, Bradley Haines, Nicholas Lykins, Justin “Bo” Lykins, Ryan Lykins, Andrea Zigmant, Jamison Bills, and Alexandra Chavdarov. There are 16 great grandchildren and one great-great granddaughter.  Sister: Marguerite Wiley of Tucson, AZ.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one sister, two brothers, and one Grandson, Douglas Lykins.

Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, March 12, 2013 at First United Methodist Church in Taylorville with Pastor Becky Lembke officiating.  Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery.  Visitation will be held from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Monday at McClure Funeral Home, Taylorville.

Arrangements are by McClure Funeral Home, Taylorville, IL.
