Deborah Sue Willhoit, 60, of Springfield, IL, passed away March 8, 2013 at 1:02 a.m. at St. John’s Hospital in Springfield, IL.
She was born November 26, 1952 in Indiana, PA, the daughter of Kenneth H. and Leola I. Thornton Conant. She married Richard Willhoit on September 7, 1991 in Springfield, IL. She was a purchasing agent for the Auditor General of the State of Illinois and a member of the First United Methodist Church of Springfield, IL, Central Illinois Walk to Emmaus, Lay Witness Mission and Stephen’s Ministry. She enjoyed camping and visiting people, and she was a prayer warrior.
She is survived by her husband, Richard; daughter, Christina (Kirk) Hammer of Edelstein, IL; grandchildren: Jessica Bourland, Joe Bourland, Colton Hammer and Kaylee Hammer; brothers, Lloyd C. (Margie) Conant of Taylorville, IL and David L. (Barb) Conant of Witt, IL; brother-in-law: James A. (Carolyn) Willhoit of Ohio and Peggy A. (Lee) Smith of Springfield, IL; and nieces, nephews and cousins, James Conant, Rick Conant, Jeff Conant, Mike Conant, Todd Willhoit, Robert Smith, Ken Khun, Amanda (Ken) Khun, Leighann Irons, Cari Smith and Amy Willhoit. She was preceded in death by her parents and sisters-in-law, Cathy Conant, Margie Conant and Karen Willhoit.
Visitation will be held Monday, March 18, 2013 from 4:00 - 7:00 p.m. at the First United Methodist Church of Springfield, IL. Funeral services will be held Monday, March 18, 2013 at 7:00 p.m. at the First United Methodist Church of Springfield, IL with Rev. Roger Ross and Rev. Bob Swickard officiating. Burial will be at a later date.
