On January 24th, eight Taylorville FFA members competed at the Section 16 Public Speaking CDE in Clinton, Ill. Public speaking is a great career development contest that teaches students communication and critical thinking skills in which they can use in the future endeavours of their lives. It’s strange how scheduling works for the Illinois High School Association. The IHSA had no idea that the Panthers and the Vandals faced off on Friday before their matchup on Monday night in Shelbyville.
On February 13, Section 19 held their Proficiency Awards judging at Nokomis High School. Three girls of the Morrisonville FFA Chapter competed with their books and won their proficiency areas.
On Wednesday, January 16, eight members from the Central A&M FFA participated in the Section 16 Food Science career development evemt (CDE).
