Letters to the Editor
What is it about trees that make people want to cut them down?  I understand that trees which are unhealthy, broken by storms, or poorly placed need to be removed. I have had at least six such trees removed, never a fun or inexpensive task to undertake, but often necessary, nonetheless. At least two of these trees I planted myself, so it came with a bit of heartbreak.

Letter to the Editor
Sir, on this Thursday past, my wife and I were traveling through your city with a load of produce that we have sold at the Findley Assumption Junction for over 20 years. Anyway, we were pulling a large load  and by the old and new water plant I felt a sudden jolt in my truck and knew I was in trouble.

Letter to the Editor
Anyone who is a daily reader of the Breeze Courier must realize Taylorville and Christian County has a major drug problem and usage is rampant daily. Everyday in the paper there is 5-8 people arrested for meth usage / possession and DUIs continue to be commonplace. A few years ago it was heroine that was a huge problem and before that crack and very forms of cocaine and these are still present.

As you headed into work or school today, you may have missed the obvious signs - the pothole on that road you take every day, the unfinished construction zone, the miles of traffic sitting still waiting on an accident to clear.

Letter to the Editor
I was incredibly disappointed to read Becky Edwards’ letter in the June 6th issue of the Breeze-Courier criticizing the funding I successfully secured to help with the clean-up costs associated with the December 1, 2018 tornadoes that devasted Taylorville and parts of Christian County.

Letters to the Editor
It was a sad day for Christian County taxpayers when on Monday in a Breeze Courier front page article announced that the City of Taylorville would be receiving a grant from the State’s Disaster Response and Recovery Fund in the amount of $500,000.00 in response to the December 1, 2018 tornado, with no mention of Christian County and the devastation we suffered during that very tornado!

The weather is something we all have to deal with, but farmers are one group that is especially impacted. Bad weather gets in the way of us conducting business and providing for our families.

Letter to the Editor
I am writing to express my opposition to the proposed wind farm in Christian County. I am not currently a resident of Christian County, but I grew up in Taylorville, my mom and two brothers still live in the county and I am a frequent visitor to Christian County. I intend to spend more time in Christian County once I retire and possibly live there. As you can see, even though I am not a county resident, the decision of the Christian County Board will affect me.

In response to recent discussions concerning the wind turbine issue, I believe Mr. Joseph Tillman’s analysis to be a correct one. Utilizing his engineering background and personal experience, Mr. Tillman’s analysis is that these wind turbine systems are problematic at best. I concur.
