Letter to the Editor
Anyone who is a daily reader of the Breeze Courier must realize Taylorville and Christian County has a major drug problem and usage is rampant daily. Everyday in the paper there is 5-8 people arrested for meth usage / possession and DUIs continue to be commonplace. A few years ago it was heroine that was a huge problem and before that crack and very forms of cocaine and these are still present.

Letters to the Editor
It was a sad day for Christian County taxpayers when on Monday in a Breeze Courier front page article announced that the City of Taylorville would be receiving a grant from the State’s Disaster Response and Recovery Fund in the amount of $500,000.00 in response to the December 1, 2018 tornado, with no mention of Christian County and the devastation we suffered during that very tornado!

Letter to the Editor
I am writing to express my opposition to the proposed wind farm in Christian County. I am not currently a resident of Christian County, but I grew up in Taylorville, my mom and two brothers still live in the county and I am a frequent visitor to Christian County. I intend to spend more time in Christian County once I retire and possibly live there. As you can see, even though I am not a county resident, the decision of the Christian County Board will affect me.

In response to recent discussions concerning the wind turbine issue, I believe Mr. Joseph Tillman’s analysis to be a correct one. Utilizing his engineering background and personal experience, Mr. Tillman’s analysis is that these wind turbine systems are problematic at best. I concur.

Bringing and retaining business in small towns is not always easy. Residents of Pana saw this in action this past fall when a large retailer left.

Letter to the Editor
Stories of people complaining about wind turbine sounds have circulated for years. As a seasoned professional engineer who has been heavily involved with renewable energy and who has even worked repairing and maintaining turbines for three years, I often considered these stories to be psychosomatic or simply false.
