Judy Love, 72, of Taylorville, Illinois, passed away peacefully at home in the arms of her son at 2:05 a.m. on Monday, October 9, 2017.
Judy was born July 24, 1945, in Kincaid, Illinois, the daughter of Ernest and Ruth Craig Dilbeck. She graduated high school in Kincaid and went on to work for over forty years as a nurse’s aide, eventually retiring from Taylorville Care Center.
Judy, known as “Granny” to the ones she worked with, took care of many people throughout her career. She worked with so much love and kindness and showed nothing but respect and dignity to everyone. Granny always put their needs before her own, without hesitation. She was an amazing cook, but most of all an avid animal lover, once again putting their needs before her own. Above all, Granny was the best grandma, always present when a shoulder was needed to cry on, or someone to play with. She made everyone feel loved and will be truly missed by everyone who knew her. Being a “Daddy’s Girl,” she is now walking and smiling in Heaven, holding his hand and telling him all about her family.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and sister, Betty Grubb.
Judy is survived by her son, Gary and Angela Harris-Dain of Taylorville; grandchildren, Krista (Aaron) Metcalf and Jesse Dain, both of Taylorville; great grandchildren, Abigail and Colton; sister, Shirley (Tex) Gray of Chatham; and her special friend, Gail Richards of Taylorville.
The family will host a Celebration of Life at a later date.
